Do you like working on challenging industry projects? We are offering internships for people with strong initiative and proactive communication skills to perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials in order to verify conformance to industry standards and specifications.
The interns will perform laboratory of concrete, soils, and aggregates following ASTM, EN, and LIBNOR test methods.
Aggregates testing: (Common work for both subtends)
- Sieve analysis for aggregates
- Density, specific gravity, and absorption for coarse and fine aggregates
- Fine materials in aggregates
- Flakiness and elongation
- Bulk density and voids in aggregates
- Standard test method for organic impurities in fine aggregates
Section 1: Concrete mix: (Four weeks program)
- Concrete mix design
- Standard specification for chemical admixture for concrete
- Slump testing
- Compressive strength treating
- Air content of freshly mixed concrete testing
- Testing Air entraining admixture for concrete
- Determination of setting times of concrete mixtures by penetration resistance
Section 2: Dry-mix (tile adhesive, waterproofing, and grout): (Four weeks program)
- Methods of testing for mortars and masonry cement
- Bulk density of mortars
- Determination of dry bulk density of hardened mortars
- Determination of adhesive strength of hardened rendering and plastering mortars on substrates
- Determination of water absorption coefficient due to the capillary action of hardened mortar
- Determination of slip for tile adhesives
- Determination of open time for tile
- Determination of tensile adhesion strength for the cement-based tile adhesives
- Evaluation of tile adhesives, classification, requirements, designation, and conformity to industry standards
- Testing of masonry cement
- Specification for mortars for masonry
- Assessment of masonry cements conformity to standard specifications
- Assessment of mortars for unit masonry conformity to Standard specification
- Setting time
- Compressive strength
- Flexural strength
- Pull off strength
- Drying shrinkage
- Water absorption
The internship will also include routine maintenance, repair, and calibration of laboratory and field equipment.
Note: Working Hours will be From 7:00 to 13:00 Monday to Friday
