Effective acoustic solutions are of critical importance in modern architecture. As architects and sound engineers seek to identify the sound suitable acoustic materials to incorporate in their design, they are keen to ensure the acoustic materials chosen are as inconspicuous as possible and that the material and design that are offered meet the most stringent requirements pertaining to reverberation time, sound distribution and speech intelligibility.

Various factors are taken into consideration such as the material used for floors, walls, and ceilings, as well as ambient interior temperatures, type of furniture, and the number of people, to meet the specified acoustic and aesthetic requirements best. Solutions offered, deal with the necessary treatments of major acoustic issues that may represent a source of unwanted noise. They seek to properly balance absorption and reflection by providing a favorable acoustical environment. They balance out the sound reflected by the hard and robust materials used for the walls and floors.

Holderchem offers Sto acoustic solutions that are the result of over 35 years of research and development, and which aim at providing customers with everything they need to achieve acoustically perfect room designs

Four different systems and a large selection of materials and surfaces are offered, with the following key characteristics:

  • A unique range of sound-absorbing products that meet all the technical and design requirements for optimal room acoustics.
  • Light acoustic panels made of expanded glass granulate.
  • Substructure made of metal profiles.
  • High sound absorption values.
  • Shortening the reverberation time.
  • Good room damping.
  • Curved, seamless acoustic ceilings.
  • Seamless surfaces up to 700 m².
  • Wide range of topcoats.
  • Fine and structured surfaces.
  • Large selection of colors - up to 450 colors possible.
  • Sustainable and ecological coatings.
  • Comprehensive advice in every project phase.

Sto Silent offers solutions for suspended panel systems, direct systems, acoustic plasters, and variable ceiling and wall elements. In the field of seamless acoustics, suspended acoustic systems are the largest market today.

  • The StoSilent Distance panel system enables walls and ceilings that have to be suspended up to 200 m² to be seamless and sound-absorbing.
  • The Sto Silent Direct system, which is particularly easy-to-install and space-saving. It does not require a substructure. It is suitable for almost any surface. The light sandwich panels made of Rockwool and expanded glass granulate also enable curved, seamless acoustic ceilings.
  • The StoSilent Modular Variable ceiling system is recommended wherever suspended or directly mounted systems are not possible or the acoustics need to be optimized afterward. StoSilent Modular 300 fulfills special design requirements. The slim absorber panel is combined with an aluminum edge that is only 3 mm thick, which gives the system an elegant look.
  • The StoSilent Compact flexible plaster system is recommended wherever any structural conditions do not allow any suspended or curtain-type acoustic systems to be used. This is the case for example in listed buildings or sacred buildings. In such cases, Sto has been successful on the market with acoustic plaster systems for many years.
