Tar epoxy resin-based coating
BATIMIX Tar Epoxy 580 is a solvent free, thixotropic, two-component liquid tar-epoxy resin based on modified amine hardeners.
BATIMIX Tar Epoxy 580 is an anti-corrosion coating material for concrete, plaster, iron and steel. It is especially suitable for sewage works, i.e., for coating sewage pipes, sewage treatment plants, decomposition, etc. It is also applicable as a protective corrosion inhibitor coating material in hydraulic steel constructions, such as inhibitor coating for sluices, harbour installations and steel sheet pilings. Additionally, it is used in shipbuilding as an underwater coating. It is an excellent cold insulation material in underground construction.
BATIMIX Tar Epoxy 580 is an anti-corrosion material that combines special tars with high waterproofing characteristics to epoxy resins with outstanding thermal and chemical properties.
Both components give the hardened coating high elasticity, ductility, hardness, and abrasion resistance.
The coating exhibits extremely-low water absorption and good resistance to chemicals. It is waterproof, waste and sea waterproof, and it has resistance to diluted acids, lyes, and aliphatic hydrocarbons, such as petrol, oil, and diesel fuel. It is not affected temperature changes in the - 30°C to + 80°C range. A wet film thickness of about 500 µ can be achieved in one application.
BATIMIX Concrete 580 contains cement, which is irritating to the eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, kindly refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet.
