Binder for masonry construction
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 50 is a general purpose binder primarily used in masonry construction. It consists of a mixture of Type I Portland cement, fillers, and chemical additives such as plasticizing/water-reducing, water retaining, and air entraining, shrinkage-compensating, and water-repellent agents.
Applications of mortars prepared with BATIMIX Masonry Binder 50 include:
•Assemblage and fixing all type of masonry units including concrete blocks, stones, bricks, pavers, and hollow blocks
•Plastering and rendering works, whether hand or spray machine applied
•Spatter-dash slurry coat mortars used for increasing roughness of smooth substrates before plastering works
Mortars prepared with BATIMIX Masonry Binder 50 are ideal for masonry works. A variety of plastic and hardened construction requirements can be secured, including:
•Enhanced workability, because of the presence of fillers and plasticizing agents
•Better water retention which prevents the mortar from rapid loss of mixing water
•Lower volume changes such as the drying shrinkage and sulfate expansion
•Increased coverage ratios, mainly due to the lower product’s density
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 50 contains cement. It is irritating to eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, please refer to Material Safety Data Sheet.
