Holderchem supplied the Marina Tower project located in the Beirut Central District seafront with Elkem® Microsilica® 940 U. It helped achieve high-compressive strength, low-permeability concrete. It was used to improve the mechanical properties and the durability characteristics of concrete. The reduced diffusivity of chloride ions and corrosion of reinforcing steel in the long term was deemed a major benefit in an environment exposed to saline water.
