Mid-range plasticizers for concrete with improved slump retention


BATIMIX MWR-S Series products are high-performance liquid mid-range water-reducing admixtures for concrete. It is based on a blend of high-grade naphthalene sulphonates and lignosulphonates combined with selected chemicals to improve slump retention over time.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX MWR-S Series products improve the workability of concrete and reduce free water content. They are particularly suitable for use in hot weather concreting. They delay the setting of concrete, allowing for sufficient time for concrete delivery, placement, and finishing operations.

These powerful dispersants yield higher than normal concrete strength and increased workability, with lower cement content. Applications include self-consolidating, precast, ready-mixed, lightweight, pumped concrete, shotcrete, and various other plain and reinforced concrete castings.


Concrete prepared with BATIMIX MWR-S Series products are characterized by the following:

In the plastic state:

  • Improved workability without adding extra water
  • Reduced water content up to 35% with minimum secondary effects
  • Extended working times of concrete, even in hot weather climates
  • Controlled setting, preventing the formation of cold joints in large pours

In the hardened state:

  • Increased strengths – compressive, flexural, and bonding
  • Reduced shrinkage, creep, and water permeability
  • Enhanced durability and better surface appearance of the concrete
