Batimix Tile Grout L-435

Description

BATIMIX Tile Grout L-435 is a liquid admixture used as "mixing water" with any ready-to-use or on-site prepared cementitious-based gout for filling up tile joints. It is based on synthetic-rubber latex elastomer resins and hydrophobic agents. It is incorporated to enhance bonding, flexibility, and resistance to water permeability.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX Tile Grout L-435 is used to grout all types of floor and wall joints in residential and industrial structures likely to be subjected to vibrations, extreme flexing, or deforming problems. It is recommended whenever thermic or dimensional variations are expected. This is often the case in external façades and when the possibility of damp penetration has to be eliminated, as is the case of swimming pools, bathrooms, balconies, and terraces. It is suitable for both inside and outside grouting of tiles and stones. It is specifically recommended when waterproofing and high-performance properties are required.

Health and Safety

BATIMIX Tile Grout L-435 is a synthetic-rubber latex liquid that may cause eye/skin/respiratory irritation. Avoid breathing vapor and wear suitable gloves. For further information, kindly refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet.

Directions for Use

Joints preparation: Before beginning of grouting, always ensure that the mortar or adhesive that was used to fix the tiles has completely hardened. The joints must be thoroughly cleaned, free of dust, and emptied to a depth of at least 2/3 of the tile thickness. Dampen the interior of the joints prior to grout application.

Mixing: The dosage of BATIMIX Tile Grout L-435 to be incorporated depends on the formulation of the cementitious-based grout and the desired consistency. Mixing should preferably be done with a slow-speed electric mixer to get a uniform smooth consistency. Do not mix more grout that can be used within a 20-minutes period at 23 ºC and do not re-wet the mix.

Grout application: All joints must be well filled with the grout prepared with BATIMIX Tile Grout L-435 using a trowel rubber spatula or float, making sure that they are completely compacted with no unevenness. While still fresh, remove the excess from the surface by moving the trowel or float diagonally to joints.

Finishing: When the applied grout loses its plasticity, clean all excess with a wet sponge working diagonally to the joints. Rinse the sponge frequently using clean water. When applying the grout in hot, dry, or windy climates, it is advisable to moist cure the joints for at least 3 days.

Cementitious-based mortars prepared with BATIMIX Tile Grout L-435 conform to EN 13888 standard requirements for Tile Grouts.

Storage

BATIMIX Tile Grout L-435 shelf life is one year from the production date if well stored in a closed dry place. Avoid freezing and excessive temperatures.
