Set Accelerator & Early Strength Enhancer for Cement

Description

BATIMIX QS-AC 2402 is a liquid cement additive formulated to accelerate setting time and boost early strength development.

It is an aqueous solution of specialty accelerators and strength-enhancing chemicals, designed for use in the production of Portland and other hydraulic cements.

By promoting faster cement hydration, BATIMIX QS-AC 2402 significantly increases early compressive strength, ensuring improved performance in applications requiring rapid formwork turnover, precast production, or cold-weather concreting.

In addition, it contributes to long-term strength gain and overall durability, providing reliable performance across a wide range of cement types. It is suitable for use in both open- and closed-circuit cement mills, delivering consistent quality and enhanced efficiency in cement manufacturing.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX QS-AC 2402 is designed to accelerate cement setting and enhance early strength development. Its primary role is to promote rapid hydration, enabling faster formwork removal, increased production efficiency, and reliable performance in applications such as precast elements, ready-mix concrete, and cold-weather concreting.

Health and Safety

BATIMIX QS-AC 2402 product may be irritant to the skin and eyes. If accidentally spilled onto the skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If accidentally splashed into the eyes, flush with plenty of water and consult a physician. For additional information, kindly refer to the corresponding MSDS.

Standard Compliance

There is no specific ASTM standard for early strength cement additives. BATIMIX QS-AC 2402’s performance can be assessed using: ASTM C494 (Type C), ASTM C191, and ASTM C109/C109M.

Direction of use

BATIMIX QS-AC 2402 is a set-accelerating cement additive that can be used in combination with quality strength improvers, such as BATIMIX QS 2112. At the recommended dosage rate of 0.2% by weight of cement for Batimix QS-AC 2402, it may be combined with 0.04% by weight of cement with BATIMIX QS 2112.

The product is typically used as received. Due to variations in mills and operating conditions, industrial trials are recommended to determine the optimal dosage rate.

BATIMIX QS-AC 2402 can be introduced directly into the grinding mill, either in the first or second compartment, or applied onto the clinker feeding conveyor belt. In all cases, the use of suitable dosage pumps with adjustable flow rates is recommended to ensure accurate proportioning and uniform distribution of the additive.

For guidance on proportioning and application under specific operating conditions, please consult your Holderchem representative.

Dosage rates

BATIMIX QS-AC 2402 is used at a recommended dosage rate of 0.2% by weight of cement. The exact dosage may vary depending on clinker composition and temperature, clinker factor, type of mill, and the desired performance and job conditions.
