Batimix Plaster W-330

Holderchem

Hydrophobic mortar for plastering works

Description

BATIMIX Plaster W-330 is a pre-packaged cementitious-based plaster. It exhibits hydrophobic properties. It protects masonry surfaces against the ingress of water. It consists of a blend of hydraulic binders, carefully graded sand, and selected plasticizing, air-entraining, shrinkage-compensating, and hydrophobic agents.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX Plaster W-330 is particularly suitable for plastering exterior masonry surfaces and patching structures subjected to a high degree of moisture, rain, and water. It is chloride free. It is applied to structurally sound surfaces, old or new. Typical areas of application include:

  • residential buildings
  • above and below grade structures
  • potable-water tanks
  • swimming-pools
  • containers
  • sewage plants

Features

BATIMIX Plaster W-330 is an easy to apply ready-to-use plastering and/or patching mortar. It exhibits extremely good workability and adhesion to substrates. Its relative rate of water absorption is around 10 times lower than reference mixtures made without hydrophobic agents.

Directions for Use

Substrate preparation: For plastering works, it is advisable to apply a spatter-dash slurry coat such as BATIMIX Key Coat 240 or 250 on the substrate to increase friction. All surfaces must be sufficiently dampened before applying the BATIMIX Key Coat which should then be cured for at least 3 days prior to plastering.

For patching and reprofiling works, BATIMIX Plaster W-330 must be applied on sound and thoroughly cleaned substrates free from oil, dust, loose particles, and paints. The surface must be moisturized before application.

Product preparation: A 50-kg bag of BATIMIX Plaster W-330 is mixed manually or mechanically with 7 to 8.5 liters of clean water until a homogenous paste is obtained.

Application: For plastering works, BATIMIX Plaster W-330 can be applied either manually with a plastering trowel or with a mechanical projection machine in layers not exceeding 20 mm. In case multiple layers are required, it is recommended that the subsequent layers be applied at least 24 hours from the first application. For detailed application instructions, kindly refer to the product’s “Application Guidelines”.

Protection and curing: The temperature during application should be between 5 and 35 °C. When finishing, BATIMIX Plaster W-330 should be protected from extreme temperatures, wind, and sunshine by moist curing for a minimum of 3 days. Curing compounds can be purchased separately from Holderchem.
