Cementitious ready-to-use plaster - Professional grade
BATIMIX Plaster 270 is a pre-packaged cementitious-based mortar used for carrying out traditional plastering works. It is a blend of a hydraulic binder, carefully graded sand, and selected additives, such as plasticizing, air-entraining, and shrinkage-compensating agents.
BATIMIX Plaster 270 is used for plastering interior and exterior masonry elements. It is recommended for use on concrete and brick block walls, partitions, and ceilings. It forms an ideal substrate for paint, wallpaper, and decorative plasters. It is also used for general filling-up works. It is applied with a suitable plastering machine or by hand onto prepared concrete surfaces and blockwork. It allows for the fast completion of plastering works.
BATIMIX Plaster 270 exhibits the following characteristics:
BATIMIX Plaster 270 contains cement and thus is irritating to the eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, kindly refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet.
Substrate preparation: BATIMIX Plaster 270 must be applied on sound and thoroughly cleaned substrates free of oil, dust, loose particles, and paints. The traces of mould joints must be leveled. In order to increase friction of smooth surfaces, a spatter-dash slurry coat such as the BATIMIX Key Coat 240 or 250 should be applied on the substrate.
Product preparation: Depending on the required consistency, a 50-kg bag of BATIMIX Plaster 270 is mixed manually or mechanically with 7.5 to 9.5 liters of clean water until a homogenous mix is obtained.
Application: BATIMIX Plaster 270 can be applied either manually with a plastering trowel or with a mechanical projection machine in layers not exceeding 15 mm. In case multiple layers are required, it is recommended that the subsequent layers be applied at least 24 hours from the first application. For detailed application instructions, kindly refer to the product’s “Application Guidelines”.
Protection and curing: The temperature during application should be between 5 and 35 °C. When finishing, the plaster should be protected from extreme temperatures, wind, and sunshine by moist curing for a minimum of 3 days. Curing compounds can be purchased separately from Holderchem S.A.L.
BATIMIX Plaster 270 is manufactured to conform to all current requirements of EN 998-1 Grade GP for General Purpose Rendering and Plastering Mortar.
BATIMIX Plaster 270 shelf life is six months from the production date if well stored in a closed dry place. Avoid freezing and excessive temperatures.
