Batimix Mortar W-840

Description

BATIMIX Mortar W-840 is a fast setting cementitious material, which stops water leakage and moisture ingress. It is made from cement, carefully-graded sand, and a combination of selected waterproofing additives.

BATIMIX Mortar W-840 allows the passage of water vapor through concrete. It withstands active and passive water pressure.

Main Purpose

Batimix Mortar W-840 is used as a sealing mortar and fast-setting mortar in multiple areas. It is suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

Batimix Mortar W-840 is used to seal water leaks, infiltrations and cracks that are not watertight, seal damp surfaces, leaks in sandstone pipes, and water leaks at segment joints in tunnels. It is also used for immediate fixing in hydraulic engineering structures, fast installation of steel elements such as lattice grids in concrete or masonry, erosion-resistant bracing of canal sections, and construction elements subject to rain stress. It is also used for underwater work, provided access is provided.

Batimix Mortar W-840 is compatible with substrates such as concrete, masonry, sandstone pipes, and natural stone.

Health and Safety

BATIMIX Mortar W-840 contains cement that is irritating to the eyes and skin. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, kindly refer to the product's Material Safety Data Sheet.

Directions for Use

1 – Substrate preparation For optimum bonding and performance, the surface must be clean, sound, and free of any surface contamination. Leaks must be cut out back to sound material, leaving an appropriate chase for receiving the BATIMIX Mortar W-840.

2 – Product preparation Setting is dependent largely on the amount of mixing water used. In general, 1 kg of BATIMIX Mortar W-840 should be mixed with 0.25 liters of clean water.

The mixing should be done with a medium-speed mechanical mixer for maximum 15 seconds. Mix only as much material as can be used within 20 seconds.

3 – Application To avoid wastage, only small quantities of BATIMIX Mortar W-840 should be mixed. After mixing, apply the product to the appropriate area immediately. Work the mixture well and then hold it firmly into place until setting. Remove any excess material.

Storage

BATIMIX Mortar W-840 should be stored in a closed and dry place. Avoid freezing and excessive temperatures. Unopened bags have a shelf life of six months when stored as recommended.
