Health and Safety

BATIMIX Mortar SC-670 contains cement that is irritating to the eyes and skin. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, kindly refer to Material Safety Data Sheet.

Directions for Use

1 – Substrate preparation Concrete to be in contact with BATIMIX Mortar SC-670 must be structurally sound and fully cured. Acid etching is acceptable only when mechanical preparation is impractical. All treated concrete surfaces must possess an open texture with all curing compounds and sealers removed.

Prior to application, all surfaces must be free from dust, oil, grease, or any other foreign substance that may interfere with the bond of the material. Remove all loose or delaminated sand and rock. Moisturize the area with clean water, leaving the substrate saturated but free of standing water (SSD condition).

Under certain situations, BATIMIX bonding agents may be applied on the concrete substrates to increase adhesion. Kindly refer to Holderchem representatives.

2 – Product preparation A 25-kg bag of BATIMIX Mortar SC-670 should be mixed with 5.5 to 6.5 liters of clean water, depending on the desired consistency. Do not use water at a rate that will cause bleeding or segregation. The mixing should be done with a medium-speed mechanical mixer for a minimum of 3 minutes until obtaining a consistent homogenous material.

3 – Application BATIMIX Mortar SC-670 should be continuously placed to provide a smooth and uniform surface. Start in one corner placing a continuous stream of material along one edge of the area and back lap as soon as possible for a uniform, smooth surface. Consumption rates may vary from 14 to 18 kg/m²/cm.

Specifications / Compliance with Standards
