Thixotropic, fiber reinforced mortar for repair
BATIMIX Mortar 620 is a ready-to-use cementitious-based thixotropic mortar for repair applications. It is designed from Type I Portland cement, carefully graded sand, fibers, and selected additives such as plasticizing, viscosity-enhancing, shrinkage-compensating, rebound-reducing, and water repellent.
BATIMIX Mortar 620 is used for repairing, patching, pointing, filling cracks, and repairing faulty edges and surfaces applications. It is used in interior and exterior elements.
BATIMIX Mortar 620 has the following characteristics:
BATIMIX Mortar 620 contains cement that is irritating to the eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, kindly refer to Material Safety Data Sheet.
Substrate preparation: BATIMIX Mortar 620 must be applied on sound and thoroughly cleaned substrates free of oil, dust, loose particles, and paints. The traces of mould joints must be leveled. All surfaces should be saturated with water (SSD condition) prior to application.
Product preparation: Depending on the desired consistency, a 25-kg bag of BATIMIX Mortar 620 is mixed manually or mechanically with 3.5 to 4.25 liters of clean water until a homogenous mix is obtained. Do not add sand or other cement admixtures so as not to alter product characteristics.
Application: BATIMIX Mortar 620 may be applied by various methods such as manually with a plastering trowel or spraying. It should be transported to the repaired area and placed immediately in layers not exceeding 25 mm. In case higher thicknesses are required, it is recommended that the subsequent layers be applied after at least 24 hours from the first application. Finish to the desired texture. The average consumption rates vary from 14 to 18 kg / m2 / cm, depending on the method of application and type of substrate.
Protection and curing: The temperature during application should be between 5 and 40 °C. When finishing, the mortar should be protected from extreme temperatures, wind, and sunshine by moist curing for a minimum of 3 days. Curing compounds can be purchased separately from Holderchem.
BATIMIX Mortar 620 is in conformity with all current requirements of ASTM C 887 for Standard specification for packaged, dry, combined materials for surface bonding mortar.
BATIMIX Mortar 620 shelf life is six months from the production date if well stored in a closed dry place. Avoid freezing and excessive temperatures.
