Description

Batimix Metakaolin DG3-P is a high reactivity Metakaolin produced by a patented process. It increases the concrete chemical resistance and durability and reduces shrinkage. It yields higher initial and long-term strength and results in reduced efflorescence.

Main Purpose

When added to the concrete mix, Batimix Metakaolin DG3-P significantly improves the particle packing by physically filling the voids in the cement paste. It is used as a cement replacement in concrete as it has been found to possess both pozzolanic and micro filler characteristics. This leads to a more densified concrete skeleton with reduced levels of bleeding.

BATIMIX Metakaolin DG3-P can be incorporated in a wide variety of high-strength, self-compacting, and self-healing concrete, It is used in specialty concrete mixtures such as underwater, shotcrete, self-consolidating, and pre-stressed. In the design stage, it constitutes an ideal alternative to improve strength and reduce sizing of structural sections such as columns, retaining walls, bridges, dams, and marine structures.

Health and Safety

Eye / Skin Contact: Direct contact may cause irritation by mechanical abrasion. Hold eyelids apart and flush with a steady stream of water for several minutes. Rinse skin with water.

Inhalation: Dust may irritate the nose, throat, and respiratory tract by mechanical abrasion. Coughing, sneezing, and shortness of breath may occur following unprotected exposure in excess of suggested limits. Move person to fresh air.

Most important symptoms and effects both acute and delayed: Expected to be non-toxic. No acute and delayed symptoms and effects are observed.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: No specific actions are required

General advice: First-aid responders should wear respiratory protection (e.g. dust mask) in dusty areas. If symptoms persist seek medical attention. Change contaminated clothing.

Batimix Metakaolin DG3-P conforms to the mendatory requirements of ASTM C-618 Class N specifications.

Compatibility

Batimix Metakaolin DG3-P is compatible with all other Batimix admixtures incorporated in the same mortar.

Dispensing

Batimix Metakaolin is introduced in the mortar in a similar manner and at the same time as Portland cement or any other cementitious material such as fly ash or blast furnace slag. Because of its ultra-fine particles, the mixing time should generally be increased to ensure effective dispersion throughout the mass mortar.
