Masonry binder for key coating applications
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 is a hydraulic binder with enhanced properties. It is particularly suitable for spatter-dash slurry coat applications in masonry construction. It is made from a blend of Type I Portland cement and fillers combined with selected chemical additives such as plasticizing / water-reducing, air-entraining, and viscosity-enhancing agents.
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 is used to produce spatter-dash slurry coat mortars, which increase the roughness of smooth substrates before plastering interior and exterior elements. The binder promotes the uniformity of prepared mortars, reducing the amount of rebound during application. It can also be used for preparing mortars for assembling masonry units, plastering, and rendering works.
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 is used to preparing mortars for masonry works, which have the following characteristics:
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 contains cement that is irritating to eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, please refer to Material Safety Data Sheet.
Depending on the type of substrate and desired strength, one part of BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 should be mixed with 2 to 3 parts, by volume, of well graded natural and/or crushed sand. The water should be clean and just enough to obtain a fluid consistency.
Mortars made with BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 can be applied manually using a traditional trowel or mechanically with a projection-spraying device. Appropriate curing procedures are important to ensure the quality and durability of the so-prepared mortars. For detailed application instructions, kindly refer to the product’s “Application Guidelines”.
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 is manufactured to conform to all current requirements of EN 413-1 MC 22.5 for Masonry Cement and ASTM C 1328 Type M for Plastic (Stucco) Cement.
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 is not an ordinary Portland cement, and cannot be used for concreting works. It can solely be used to produce mortars for masonry construction.
BATIMIX Masonry Binder 30 shelf life is six months from the production date if well stored in a closed dry place. Avoid freezing and excessive temperatures.
