Cementitious plasters with synthetic fibers - Professional grade
BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 is a prepacked high-performance cementitious-based mortar designed from a blend of hydraulic binder, carefully graded sand, synthetic fibers, and selected additives such as plasticizing, air-entraining, and shrinkage-compensating agents.
BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 is used in plastering works, in particular for exterior elements. It is also used to patch and reprofile masonry structures, restore integrity and improve the appearance of elements, which do not contain steel reinforcements and do not have load-bearing functions.
BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 has the following characteristics:
BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 contains cement, which is irritating to the eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable gloves. For further information, kindly refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet.
Substrate preparation: For patching and reprofiling works, BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 must be applied on sound and thoroughly cleaned substrates free from oil, dust, loose particles, and paints. The surface must be moisturized before application.
If BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 is used for plastering works, it is advisable to apply a spatter-dash slurry coat such as BATIMIX Key Coat 240 or 250 on the substrate to increase friction. All surfaces must be sufficiently dampened before applying BATIMIX Key Coat which should then be cured for at least 3 days prior to plastering.
Product preparation: A 50-kg bag of BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 is mixed manually or mechanically with 7 to 8.5 liters of clean water until a homogenous paste is obtained.
Application: BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 can be applied either manually with a plastering trowel or with a mechanical projection machine in layers not exceeding 20 mm. In case multiple layers are required, it is recommended that the subsequent layers be applied at least 24 hours from the first application. For detailed application instructions, kindly refer to the product’s “Application Guidelines”.
Protection and curing: The temperature during application should be between 5 and 35 °C. When finishing, the plaster should be protected from extreme temperatures, wind, and sunshine by moist curing for a minimum of 3 days. Curing compounds can be purchased separately from Holderchem.
BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 is manufactured to conform to all current requirements of ASTM C 887 for Packaged, Dry, Combined Materials for Surface Bonding Mortar.
BATIMIX Fiber Plaster 290 shelf life is six month from the production date if well stored in a closed dry place. Avoid freezing and excessive temperatures.
