
Propylene fiber reinforcement for concrete (6mm)
BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm are high-performance polypropylene fibers designed specifically for secondary reinforcing of concrete. They provide optimum strength with improved resistance to cracking. They can be supplied in 12 mm length as Batimix Fiber 660-12mm and may also be available in alternative lengths.
BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm is made from carefully selected monofilaments that totally disperse into the concrete mix. Fibers are supplied in lengths of 3mm, 6mm, 9mm, and 12mm, to provide reduced cracking and long-term durability.
BATIMIX Fiber 660-12mm is used to produce concrete such as ready-mix, shotcrete, steel-reinforced, pumped, and precast. Main uses include slabs, overlays, pipes, foundations, curbs, and patch repair.

BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm is not a hazardous material. However, it should not be swallowed or come into contact with eyes. Suitable goggles should be worn. For additional information, kindly refer to the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet.
BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm complies with ASTM C 1116, Type III, Synthetic Fiber-Reinforced Concrete or Shotcrete. Upon request, alternative products can also be available to meet the various type requirements of ASTM C 1116.
BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm is normally used at the rate of 0.3% to 0.8% of the cement weight, depending on the amount of strength increase and degree of cracking expected. Prior to batching, trials tests are recommended, using the actual mix composition, to assess various properties such as workability and strength.
An overdose of BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm will result in an increased cohesiveness of concrete resulting from the high level of friction. This would require addition of greater amounts of superplasticizer to ensure reaching the targeted slump, which in turn may lead to some set retardation.
BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm is compatible with all other Batimix admixtures incorporated in the same concrete. Concrete mixtures based on Portland cement with or without replacement materials such as silica fume, fly ash, and blast furnace slag are also compatible with BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm.
BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm can be added any time prior to the placement of concrete. However, it is preferably introduced at the batching plant during the incorporation of the cementitious phase, but it can also work well if introduced at the job site.
BATIMIX Fiber 660-6mm should be mixed with the concrete for a minimum of 3 minutes at maximum speed to ensure total dispersion and uniformity throughout the mass concrete.

UV Protection: Propylene fibers are sensitive to UV rays, which can cause fiber degradation. It is therefore important to store the fibers in a dark place or to protect them with an opaque material.
Handling: When handling propylene fibres, it is important to avoid any contact with corrosive materials or heat sources. Fibers must be handled with care to avoid damage.
Storage life: Propylene fibers have a limited storage life. It is recommended to use them within six months of receiving them. If the fibers are to be extended for a longer period, they must be protected against environmental factors such as light and humidity.
