Batimix Epoxy Primer 150

Description

BATIMIX Epoxy Primer 150 is a low-viscosity solvent-free epoxy primer. It is used to seal and prime substrates that are made of concrete or various other materials. It is absorbed into the substrate, sealing off surface defects, which may cause bubbling on the final surface finish.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX Epoxy Primer 150 is a clear two-pack epoxy resin of low viscosity. It may be used to seal and reinforce porous concrete, prior to the application of other resin-based flooring products.

Health and Safety

BATIMIX Epoxy Primer 150 is not a hazardous material. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Suitable gloves and goggles should be worn. For additional information, kindly refer to the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet.

Application & Dosage Rates

Pour the full contents of the hardener container into the full contents of the resin container and mix thoroughly with a slow speed electric stirrer for a minimum of 2 minutes.

BATIMIX Epoxy Primer 150 must be applied on sound and thoroughly cleaned substrates free of oil, dust, loose particles, and paints. The traces of mould joints must be leveled. All surfaces should be free from water prior to application. Admissible substrates include concrete, metal, wood, and most flooring compositions.

Apply by brush or roller, working the resin well into the surface. On porous surfaces apply further resin until the surface is completely wetted out. Push out the resin as thinly as possible, just leaving enough resin on the surface to give a wet appearance. Allow to cure hard before applications of the appropriate resin system.

The temperature during application should be between 5 and 35 °C, and the maximum moisture content (relative humidity) should not exceed of 75%.

BATIMIX Epoxy Primer 150 is generally applied at a rate of around 125 g/m², depending on the porosity of the substrate, and allow to cure hard for maximum 48 hours. In general, the following coverage rates are applied:

Rough porous concrete = 175 g/m² Average finish = 125 g/m² Smooth finish = 100 g/m²

Compatibility

BATIMIX Epoxy Primer 150 is compatible with and adheres to an extensive range of epoxy resin and polyurethane resin flooring systems.

Storage

BATIMIX Epoxy Primer 150 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months if kept unopened and stored at temperatures ranging from 10 to 40 ºC.
