Description

BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 is a three-component solvent-free high build epoxy floor coating for concrete. It has excellent chemical resistance and yields a heavy-duty coating for floors, which will withstand many years of use in areas subjected to foot, trolley, and forklift traffic.

BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 may be applied in coating thicknesses exceeding 0.25 mm per coat because of high build characteristics. Two coats provide a build equivalent to almost 10 coats of conventional solvent-containing coatings. It yields a smooth and easily cleanable surface when applied on rough and uneven concrete.

BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 is used in areas requiring good wear and chemical resistance at an economical cost. It is suitable for chemical plant storage areas, warehousing, toilets, food and preparation areas, etc.

BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 adheres well to concrete and metals. It has excellent long-term wear resistance.

Features

BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 yields strong adhesion to a well-prepared substrate, which exceeds concrete strength. Tests show failure occurring within the concrete rather than the epoxy-system. It adheres well to concrete, metal, wood, and most flooring compositions.

Health and Safety

BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 is not a hazardous material. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Suitable gloves and goggles should be worn. For additional information, kindly refer to the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet.

Application and Dosage Rates

Surface Preparation To be assured that maximum adhesion and improved properties from Batimix resin products are obtained, proper and correct surface preparations are essential.

Application conditions BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 is a fairly thick resin. It is preferable to be applied at ambient temperatures exceeding 10 ºC.

Mixing Mix the pre-measured quantities of resin component A and curing agent component B in a separate mixing pot until a homogeneous liquid is obtained. Add gradually component C with pigments to the liquid and mix thoroughly for 1 minute. We strongly advise the use of mechanical mixing.

Application technique Batimix Epoxy Coating 270 is pourable and should be spread out on the cured Batimix Epoxy Primer 160 by means of appropriate tools such as a squeegee or large teeth trowel. Then, 10 minutes after application of Batimix Epoxy Coating 270, treat with a spike roller to remove all entrapped air.

Coverage Average thickness = 2-3 mm Typically, for 2.5-mm, the coverage is 4.5 kg/m²

Maintenance BATIMIX Epoxy Coating 270 treated floors can be readily cleaned using a propriety cleaning solution.

Anti-Slip To produce an anti-slip profile, sprinkle or fully cast into the first coat whilst wet, the aggregate of your choice. When cured usually overnight (depending on temperature), sweep off the un-adhered aggregate and apply a further coat thus encapsulating the aggregate. Coverage rates will vary depending on the size & the amount of aggregate used.

Storage
