Main Purpose

BATIMIX Epoxy 220 is a versatile product. It is suitable for a wide variety of construction applications and civil engineering fields of use. It is particularly recommended for the following applications:

  • Anchoring of steel rebars
  • Fixing of light to heavy-shafts
  • Fixing of structured elements made of concrete, steel, stone, brick, GRC, and wood
  • Repair and patching of stair edges
  • Repair of bridge-trusses
  • General adhesive

Features

BATIMIX Epoxy 220 exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Ease of application on walls and roofs as it is a thixotropic product
  • Strong adhesion to various construction materials and thus is suitable as a bonding agent
  • Non-shrink and moisture insensitive
  • High resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals
  • High tensile and compressive strength
  • Withstands high-temperature changes, ranging from -30° to +100°C
  • It can be cleaned by steam jet

Properties

  • Color: grey
  • Hardener: amine
  • Ratio of the mix: 3:1
  • Application temperature: from -5 to +40 ºC
  • Compliance with Standard: ASTM C881

Health and Safety

BATIMIX Epoxy 220 is not a hazardous material. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Suitable gloves and goggles should be worn. For additional information, kindly refer to the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet.

Directions for Use

Cement bound surfaces must be dry, firm, and free from grout, dust, dirt, oil, grease and other impurities which can adverseIy affect uniform adhesion. All steel or iron materials should be mechanically cleaned, free from all contaminant coatings and corrosion products. Suitable methods of preparation include blast cleaning, sanding, or grinding. Do not apply BATIMIX Epoxy 220 to surfaces with standing water, as the maximum moisture content should not exceed 10%.

BATIMIX Epoxy 220 is a two-component product comprising the correct quantities of Part A (Resin) and Part B (Hardener). The Part B should be placed over Part A, and two components mixed thoroughly together using a slow speed mechanical mixer (maximum speed should not exceed 500 rpm) for around 3 minutes of time. The color should be uniform after mixing. The product can be diluted with solvents; however, kindly refer to Holderchem representatives.

Apply BATIMIX Epoxy 220 at a thin layer to the prepared substrate using a brush or roller. The minimum layer thickness is around 0.1 mm, when used as a bonding agent. Ensure that the product is worked well into the substrate to improve adhesion properties. While the epoxy is still tacky, the various materials should be connected with each other. The product should be protected to reach initial cure within 24 hours, and expected to have full performance after 5 days.
