
Epoxy adhesive - High modulus - Medium viscosity
BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV is a 100% reactive, two-component material designed as an adhesive and binder for numerous application needs. This high-modulus material is available in low viscosity (LV), medium viscosity (MV), or high viscosity (Gel).
BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV is a multi-purpose product. It is suitable for the following applications:
The low viscosity product (LV) is primarily used for injection, priming, and sealing; the medium viscosity (MV) for bonding applications and high viscosity (Gel) for anchoring.

BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV may be mixed with sand or other aggregates to produce epoxy repair mortars and epoxy repair concrete. It should not be used as an aesthetic coating or for overhead anchoring.
BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV is not a hazardous material. However, do not heat it with open flames. It should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. BATIMIX Epoxy 100 LV complies with ASTM C881 Types I and IV, Grade 1, Classes B and C; BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV complies with ASTM C881 Types I and IV, Grade 2, Classes B and C; BATIMIX Epoxy 100 Gel complies with ASTM C881 Types I and IV, Grade 3, Classes B and C.
Surface Preparation: New concrete and masonry must be dry and at least 28 days old prior to application. Steel substrates must be prepared to a white finish prior to application. Remove dust and laitance from the surface and cracks with compressed air. Concrete surfaces must be roughened and made absorptive, preferably by mechanical means, and then thoroughly cleaned of all dust and debris. If the surface was prepared by chemical means (acid etching), a water/baking soda or water/ammonia mixture, followed by a clean water rinse, must be used for cleaning, in order to neutralize the substrate. Allow substrate to dry before applying BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV.
Mixing: Mix BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV using a low-speed drill and a mixing paddle. Do not thin BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV. Pre-mix Part A and Part B separately for about 1 minute each. Combine Part A and Part B in a 2 to 1 ratio by volume, then mix thoroughly for 3 to 5 minutes.
To make an epoxy mortar, gradually add clean, dry, 20/40 mesh silica sand to previously mixed BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV and mix thoroughly for 3 to 5 minutes. The mix ratio of aggregate to mixed epoxy is approximately 3 to 1 by volume, but can be modified depending on the desired consistency of the mortar.
It is recommended to scrape the bottom and sides of the containers at least once during mixing but to refrain from doing so once mixing has ceased as it may cause unmixed resin or hardener being applied on substrate, which will not cure properly. To avoid aerating when mixing, use drill-mixing paddles.
Application: To bond fresh concrete to hardened concrete (MV or Gel), apply BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV or Gel by brush, roller, or squeegee to a well-prepared concrete substrate. While the epoxy is still wet, broadcast clean, dry aggregate into the resin until the aggregate is no longer being saturated by the epoxy, applying on any area of aggregate that looks “wet” additional aggregate. Aggregate application rates will very depending on size and characteristics of aggregates used but will typically range from 3.5 to 5.0 kg/ m2. Allow the epoxy to cure, then sweep and/or vacuum up the excess aggregate. Apply subsequent topping to the dried, sand-seeded epoxy.
To bond hardened concrete to hardened concrete (LV, MV or Gel), apply BATIMIX Epoxy 100 MV by spatula, brush, or trowel, ensuring the surfaces to be joined are uniformly coated and held firmly until the epoxy gels.
For anchoring bolts, dowels, pins (LV, MV or Gel), use BATIMIX Epoxy 100 LV or MV as an epoxy or alternatively as a mortar to grout vertically aligned anchors into a horizontal substrate. Ensure anchoring holes are free of all debris before grouting. Optimum hole size diameter is 1.6 mm to 3.2 mm larger diameter than anchor diameter). Depth of embedment is typically 10 to 15 times anchor diameter.
For patching and repairs (LV, MV or Gel), apply BATIMIX Epoxy 100 LV or MV neat as a primer coat to the prepared concrete surface that needs to be repaired or patched. Subsequently, apply to the area an epoxy mortar prepared from BATIMIX Epoxy Mortar 100 LV or MV by trowel or spatula in 25 to 40 mm layers while the neat primer coat is still tacky. Ensure initial set is achieved before subsequent layers are applied.
For pressure injecting vertical cracks (LV), upon ensuring no water is leaking from cracks, pump BATIMIX Epoxy 100 LV into cracks using two-component pressure injection equipment. Start from bottom of the crack upwards moving from port to port, capping off ports as proceeding forward.
For treating horizontal cracks (LV), by mechanical means ensure cracks are free of debris and water. If gravity feeding, pump BATIMIX Epoxy 100 LV until cracks are completely filled, and if pressure injecting follow instructions outlined herein above. Take necessary measures to ensure epoxy does not leak through.
For priming/sealing (LV), apply BATIMIX Epoxy 100 LV by brush or roller to the prepared surface. Porous substrates may require a second coat. Place subsequent epoxy coatings, which may be required if applying on porous surfaces, after the prime coat has become tack free, albeit within 24 hours of prime coat application.
Cleaning: Clean tools, application equipment, spills immediately with acetone, xylene, or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) as once it hardens, removal of Batimix Epoxy 100 will need mechanical abrasion for removal.
Bonding: 2.5 m²/l. Mortar: 380 litres of epoxy mixed with 1140 litre of 20/40 mesh sand will yield 1 m³ of mortar.
