Batimix CWR M-910

Holderchem

Water-repellent solvent-based coating for concrete and masonry

Description

BATIMIX CWR M-910 is a transparent liquid compound, siloxane-solvent based. It is applied on concrete and masonry surfaces to provide highly effective water repellent protection. This deeply penetrating hydrophobic liquid reacts chemically with mineral substrates to form a surface that is repellent to water, albeit permeable to water vapor.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX CWR M-910 is used to treat and protect concrete, blocks, stucco, bricks, and masonry surfaces from moisture absorption, dirt, and dust. It is particularly recommended for treating the joints of tile surfaces, subject to contact with water, such as swimming pools, corridors, and washrooms. It is suitable for the waterproofing of all calcareous building materials and sand/cement mixes. It generally dries tack-free in two to four hours at a temperature of 23 ⁰C.

Features

Surfaces treated with BATIMIX CWR M-910 are characterized by the following:

  • Minimized potential risk of efflorescence
  • Reduced deterioration from freeze/thaw damage
  • Reduced water penetration
  • Reduced cleaning costs
  • Longer service life and better surface quality

Properties

  • Appearance: transparent liquid
  • Specific gravity: around 0.7 at 23 ºC
  • Chloride content: nil
  • Freezing point: 0ºC

Health and Safety

BATIMIX CWR M-910 is not a hazardous material. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Suitable gloves and goggles should be worn. For additional information, kindly refer to the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet.

Application & Dosage Rates

The substrate should preferably by dry, but being cast for a minimum period of 28 days prior to the application. It should be thoroughly cleaned from all dust, grout, dirt particles, oil grease, or other impurities which can adversely affect uniform adhesion. Highly porous substrates should be first treated by a filler bonding putty prior to application of BATIMIX CWR M-910.

Apply BATIMIX CWR M-910 using a brush, roller, or spraying machine until the substrate is saturated. The material consumption is estimated at about 5 to 12 m² per 1 kg of product, depending on the porosity of the substrate. Surfaces treated with this product can be painted over. Light foot traffic as well as wheel traffic should be avoided until the product is fully cured.

Effect of Overdosing

Tests have shown that an overdose application of BATIMIX CWR M-910 will not lead to any remarkable additional protection in water repellency.

Compatibility

BATIMIX CWR M-910 is compatible with all types of cementitious-based substrates made using Portland cement or replacement materials such as silica fume, fly ash, or blast furnace slag. Its final performance should be assessed using trial tests.

Dispensing

BATIMIX CWR M-910 can be applied using a brush, roller, or any suitable spraying machine.
