Batimix Color Release P-650

Description

BATIMIX Color Release P-650 is a release agent that forms a moisture barrier between the stamping tools and wet concrete. It facilitates the release of imprinting tools. It is a dry shake material applied directly on top of the concrete before stamping. The releasing agent, which is available in different colors, contains pigments that add color and depth to the stamped surface. For use on stamped concrete products only.

Main Purpose

BATIMIX Color Release P-650 is used as a stamp tool release and secondary color accent on plain concrete or colored concrete.

Features

BATIMIX Color Release P-650 is used on textured concrete. It prevents the stamp from sticking during the stamping process. It greatly reduces the need for a touch-up. The color release is chosen so that it accents the base color. It allows for a rich-looking antique effect to be achieved. The darker color, which is applied on top of the color hardener, recesses into grout lines and deeper textures.

Health and Safety

BATIMIX Color Release P-650 is not a hazardous material. It should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Suitable dust masks should be worn. For additional information, kindly refer to the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet.

Directions for Use

Preparation:

All surrounding areas should be protected from contamination by the dust created by the broadcast method of application. Poly sheeting is recommended for masking.

When to apply:

After all color hardener is applied and/or final troweling is completed, and when no bleed water is on the surface. BROADCASTING PROCEDURE: Use a dust mask to prevent inhalation. Before broadcasting release, empty half of the contents of a pail into a clean, dry container and aerate material to loosen any compaction before broadcasting onto surface. Apply lightly and evenly over area using a casting motion. Use caution in windy conditions. Two applications may be required for uniform coverage. For optimal result, dash brush may be used to broadcast release.

Finishing:

After the concrete has set and dried, remove the excess color by rinsing with water (no additives). Take care not to wash off completely. Use a lighter, quicker rinsing action for the grout lines and deeper indentations. Removing most of the release from the high spots, and leaving more of the color in the deeper areas will enhance antique effect for a beautiful, more natural finish.

Compatibility

BATIMIX Color Release P-650 is compatible with all types of cementitious-based concrete made using Portland cement or replacement materials such as silica fume, fly ash, or blast furnace slag.

Storage

BATIMIX Color Release P-650 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months if kept unopened and stored at temperatures ranging from 2 to 50 ºC.
