BATIMIX Block Fix 220 is a ready-to-use mortar that has been specially formulated to assemble various types of clay, concrete, stone masonry units, and hollow blocks. This mortar is made up of masonry cement, graded sand, and additives that improve important qualities like workability, water retention, and durability.

Health and Safety

BATIMIX Block Fix 220 includes Portland cement, which can be irritating to the skin and eyes. It is important to wear standard protective equipment, such as dust masks, safety glasses, and rubber gloves when working with typical cement-based products. Directions for Use

To use BATIMIX Block Fix 220, mix it with 7 to 8.5 liters of clean water per 50 kg bag. The powder can be mixed manually or with a machine for at least 3 minutes, or until a uniform paste is formed.

BATIMIX Block Fix 220 should be applied manually using a trowel to damp, clean surfaces. Do not apply the product when ambient temperatures exceed 35°C or fall below 5°C. To prevent rapid drying of the mortar, users should shield the application area from direct sunlight, retemper the mortar with added water if necessary to restore workability, and frequently moisten the substrate. The average coverage rates for a 50-kg bag of BATIMIX Block Fix 220 are:

  • For 10-cm wide blocks: 3.5 m2 per 10 mm thick layer
  • For 15-cm wide blocks: 2.5 m2 per 10 mm thick layer
  • For 20-cm wide blocks: 2.0 m2 per 10 mm thick layer

Compliance with Standards

BATIMIX Block Fix 220 is manufactured to conform to all current requirements of EN 998-2 Grade M 20 for Masonry Mortar and ASTM C 270 Type S for Mortar for Unit Masonry.

Storage

As long as it is stored in a dry, sealed area, BATIMIX Block Fix 220 has a shelf life of six months from its production date. It is important to prevent the product from freezing or being exposed to extreme temperatures.
