Batimix Anti Dust 100

Description

Batimix Anti-Dust 100 is an environmentally safe, dust control and road stabilization agent that reduces the surface tension of particles and provides an effective long lasting method for controlling dust on dirt, sand, gravel, limestone and marl roads.

The binding action of lignosulphonates is both chemical and physical in nature and results from the intermolecular forces between the sulphonated lignin molecules and the molecules on the surface of the particles being bonded. The size of the adhesive molecule is important for the formation of the cohesive bond and is also partly responsible for the strength of the cohesion. The bond is strong enough to resist the abrasion of tyres.

Batimix Anti Dust 100 is a uniquely formulated lignosulphonate-based binder and gravel preserver suitable for binding both fine and coarse particles. Dustex is also suitable for spray- on applications to the surface of areas requiring short or medium term dust suppression.

Batimix Anti Dust 100 is used to reduce dust emitted from surfaces and as a road stabilization agent. This ‘instant’ or spray-on dust suppression method is used to reduce dust. It is the easiest and most cost effective way to achieve a dust-free environment and is more effective than multiple applications of water.

Health and Safety

Batimix Anti Dust 100 is a lignosulphonate product derived from the wood pulping process and developed specifically for road stabilisation and dust control. A product of paper manufacture, this natural polymer is non-toxic, easy to handle and satisfies all environmental requirements.

Skin and eye contact should be avoided. In case of contact, rinse or flush with water. It is a non-explosive, on-flammable product.

Direction of Use

Batimix Anti Dust 100 is sprayed over dusty surfaces. It makes the surface wear resistant and capable of withstanding the impact of friction. It is readily water-soluble and when sprayed directly onto an unprepared surface will consolidate the soil to form a bonded crusty layer.

For spray-on applications, the road surface should be well compacted, firm and free of excess loose material and with sufficient camber to allow for proper drainage

Apply the product in multiple applications using a 10-15% solution of product with water. Avoid run-off and pooling.

The durability of the treatment is determined by the strength of the mixture, the evenness of application, the depth of penetration into the soil and the properties of the material being treated.

For protection against wind erosion the minimum recommended thickness of the treated surface layer is 3-5mm and for protection against wind erosion and moderate dynamic loads, 10-15mm. Compaction further improves performance.

To apply, water the surface of the target area and apply the Batimix Anti Dust 100 solution at the recommended rate of 1–1.5 litres per square meter.

There are many variables which may influence this procedure and the rate of application and strength of the Batimix Anti Dust 100 mixture should be adjusted to suit. The treatment should be repeated when the surface starts to dust again.

• The product is stable for several years under dry cool storage conditions
• The product is supplied as a concentrated 15% solution. It can be supplied at different concentration levels.
