Acrylic latex bonding admixture.
BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 is a liquid acrylic latex admixture with high bonding characteristics. It is used with concrete, mortars, and grouts.
BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 is specifically formulated to modify cementitious-based systems by significantly increasing adhesion, bonding, and flexural strength of cementitious-based materials while enhancing resistance to abrasion, flexibility, and chemical attack without affecting water vapor transmission.
Concrete, mortar, or grout mixtures made with BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 result in improved bonding characteristics to almost all sound surfaces.
Applications include all types of cementitious-based mixtures used for construction works such as repair, masonry, plastering, rendering, patching, pointing, bricklaying, and concrete-screeding.
Mixtures prepared with BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 are characterized by the following:
In the plastic state:
In the hardened state:
BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 is not a hazardous material. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Suitable gloves and goggles should be worn. For additional information, kindly refer to the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet.
Prior to any application, all cementitious-based substrates should be sound, clean, and in a saturated surface dry condition (SSD condition) with no standing water.
As an admixture (mixing solution): Depending on the type of application and desired bonding strength, one part of BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 may be diluted with 1, 2, or 3 parts of water prior to its mixing in the concrete or mortar. The characteristics of the final products are best assessed by trials using the actual mix design with site materials under conditions that will be experienced in the field.
As a primer: Apply undiluted BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 to prepared substrates using brushes, rollers, soft brooms, or spray. Estimated coverage ratio is 2 to 3 kg/m². Very porous concrete may require a second coat of this product to seal the surface. The treated surface may have “tacky” state prior to any mortar application.
When used as a mixing solution, an overdose of BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 will generally produce a viscous mix together with a slight reduction in the early strength gain.
Batimix M-907 acrylic latex is compatible with all types of Portland cement, substitute materials such as silica fume and other BATIMIX admixtures incorporated in the same mix. During the batch, all admixtures must be added separately to the concrete, mortar or grout. The performance of various mixtures on fresh and hardened properties should be evaluated using trial tests
When used as a mixing solution, BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 should be mixed with water, and thereby dispensed in the mixture as normally done.
For proper products usage, Holderchem provides complete technical laboratory support and on-site assistance pertaining to the mortar mix design, admixture selection, and trial tests.
BATIMIX Acrylic Latex M-907 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months if kept unopened and stored at temperatures ranging from 2 to 50 ºC.
